A nova passagem pela capital paulista est\u00e1 ligada ao atual ciclo de divulga\u00e7\u00e3o de Shining<\/em>, disco mais recente do Swallow the Sun<\/strong>. Lan\u00e7ado em outubro de 2024, o \u00e1lbum abriu uma nova etapa na trajet\u00f3ria da banda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Shining chegou como o primeiro \u00e1lbum de est\u00fadio da banda ap\u00f3s Moonflowers e foi apresentado pelo pr\u00f3prio Swallow the Sun como um passo novo dentro da trajet\u00f3ria do quinteto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Na recep\u00e7\u00e3o posterior ao lan\u00e7amento, o disco foi associado a uma sonoridade mais direta e mais aberta a refr\u00e3es e contrastes entre peso e melodia, sem romper com a identidade constru\u00edda desde os primeiros trabalhos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Em mar\u00e7o de 2025, o \u00e1lbum recebeu o pr\u00eamio de Metal of the Year no Emma Gaala, a principal premia\u00e7\u00e3o da m\u00fasica finlandesa, e o ciclo foi ampliado em seguida com a edi\u00e7\u00e3o expandida Shining Dark Deluxe\/Shining (Deluxe Edition), lan\u00e7ada em 11 de abril de 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Formado em 2000, em Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4, na Finl\u00e2ndia, o Swallow the Sun construiu sua discografia a partir de uma base de death\/doom mel\u00f3dico que, ao longo dos anos, incorporou passagens mais atmosf\u00e9ricas, g\u00f3ticas e progressivas. A forma\u00e7\u00e3o atual apresentada pela banda re\u00fane Juha Raivio (guitarra), Mikko Kotam\u00e4ki (vocais), Juuso Raatikainen (bateria), Juho R\u00e4ih\u00e4 (guitarra) e Matti Honkonen (baixo).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A discografia principal do quinteto inclui The Morning Never Came (2003), Ghosts of Loss (2005), Hope (2007), o EP Plague of Butterflies (2008), New Moon (2009), Emerald Forest and the Blackbird (2012), Songs from the North I, II & III (2015), When a Shadow Is Forced Into the Light (2019), Moonflowers (2021) e Shining (2024).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Entre esses t\u00edtulos, Songs from the North I, II & III ocupa um lugar particular por condensar em tr\u00eas discos diferentes frentes da linguagem da banda, enquanto When a Shadow Is Forced Into the Light e Moonflowers formam o n\u00facleo mais marcado pelo luto e pela escrita pessoal de Juha Raivio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A volta a S\u00e3o Paulo tamb\u00e9m recoloca a banda em rota com um hist\u00f3rico j\u00e1 conhecido do p\u00fablico brasileiro. O Swallow the Sun esteve no pa\u00eds no Overload Music Festival 2014<\/strong>, em S\u00e3o Paulo, dentro da programa\u00e7\u00e3o organizada pela pr\u00f3pria Overload, e retornou em 2023 para a primeira turn\u00ea latino-americana completa, quando fez show \u00fanico no Brasil, em S\u00e3o Paulo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
No palco, os repert\u00f3rios mais recentes mostram uma banda que vem trabalhando o presente sem deixar de lado diferentes fases da carreira. Em shows do fim de 2025 no Reino Unido, o setlist combinou v\u00e1rias faixas de Shining com material de New Moon, Ghosts of Loss, Hope e The Morning Never Came. J\u00e1 em apresenta\u00e7\u00f5es do in\u00edcio de 2026 na Finl\u00e2ndia, a banda ampliou ainda mais esse recorte, incluindo m\u00fasicas de Songs from the North ao lado do repert\u00f3rio novo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
